Dec 18, 2005
It has been confirmed, I officially have mono. I have been ordered to stay at home and do absolutely nothing. I am off from work until the 29th of December pending a doctor re-evaluation. So, if you need to contact me for anything, you will know where to find me.

Here is a quick update of the happenings in my life at this time. A few days before Thanksgiving I got sick with what I thought was your average cold, consisting of a runny nose, cough, irritated throat, and minor chest congestion. Well, the symptoms escalated to where I couldn't move my neck without enduring extreme pain. Went to the doctor November 28th where was I was given a prescription for a 10 day cycle of 875 mg of amoxycillin. At that point, my neck would lock up, I had ear infections in both ears, my chest was so congested that I was told they could collapse at any moment, and the lymph nodes in my neck were swollen to the size of golf balls. My symptoms did not improve, so I went back to the same doctor, who was and still is a total ass, and was prescribed a z-pack. Guess what? The symptoms did not improve, they got worse! So, I started this week in extreme pain. The combination of the swollen lymph nodes, the infected ears, tonsillitis, the cough, and the sore throat made me return to the doctor, a different doctor this time, who took one look at my symptoms and determined that I was definitely more sick than I was lead to believe. She did a strep test even though we knew that it would have been wiped out by the previous antibiotics. She ordered bloodwork for me, and I will get the results tomorrow, Friday. The doctor is 95% sure that I have mono, and if the results are negative, guarantees that I have the virus that results in mono. So now, I have been ordered to stay at home and not go to work. At least now I can't get grief for when I had to call out or leave early. Other than the illness, I am looking forward to Christmas. I am ready for 2006, but will be sad to see the end of 2005. It was a good year, especially in retrospect to 2004. I will remember 2005 because I graduated from college and spent 6 1/2 amazing weeks in England, not to mention the small trip to Sweden. I will attempt to update again soon, but there is no guarantee. Forgive me for keeping you in suspense.....but you know you like it that way.

Ok, I know, I haven't updated since May. Shame on me. However, in my defense so much has happened since then that I have been way too busy to update. Alas, to not fret, I have set aside time to focus on updating my blog. Here goes nothing....
England: Absolutely amazing. Met a lot of amazing people who made me realize that there are in fact good people all around us, we just have to keep an open mind to find them. The best part about this trip was that I learned so much about my self and what I really hope to get out of my life. As lame as that may sound, it took being on my own in a foreign country for 6 weeks to realize that I am stronger than I thought I was. I have tons of pictures and lots of memories from this trip. The friends I made here will be lasting, something you don't always find. This was probably the best summer of my life.
Kohl's: Yes I am still working at Kohl's, dealing with the same crap and drama that I have been dealing with for the last year. Management sucks, and if you aren't one of the special few, your life is hell. Why do I stay there? The people I work with. They are the most unique grouping of people I have ever been around. It is the perfect balance of sarcasm, compassion, and utter nonsense. Unfortunately, this won't keep me there forever.
As for my upcoming plans, I am planning to start substitute teaching in elementary schools. I am also planning on going back to school and getting associate degrees in computer aided design and computer graphic web design. I also hope to get my education certification completed, just as a back-up plan in case my historic preservation plans fall through.
Now I guess that I can ramble on about my day. I worked in the Juniors dept. today. The girl who worked in the department last night did absolutely nothing, so I had to do two days work worth in a span of 3 hours. Of course that wasn't good enough for anyone. I also bugged my co-workers. I love giving Ryan and Chris a hard time. Now I have 2 days off! Two weekends from now I am planning to go visit friends at MBC. Time to go see the "squirrel and pearl" girls. I miss them a lot.
That is all for now, more to come eventually.

Only A Little Over a Week Left
A week from tomorrow I will be setting off for England. About 3 days in London followed by 6 weeks in Oxford. I am so nervous, but excited all at once. Still need to pack. Actually, I need to finish unpacking from school. In my defense I have been working a lot. Still, my passport is ready and I have some of the books for the prelim reading we should do. I might make copies of the important stuff and take it with me. Anyway, today is my first day off in over a week. I am so exhausted. My last day of work is the 21st. So to all of my friends, since I might not update between now and the time I leave, I will update everyone of my England adventures on this blog. Check back every once and awhile. Before I go, I must tell you about my weird encounter yesterday. I was pinched on the butt by a guy about 3 times my age. Scary. Have a great day!

Graduation
Graduation was unbelieveable. The sight of everyone on the hill was awesome. Someone up stairs loved us on Sunday. No rain! Let me tell you what though, I was so scared that we would have to move Graduation to Expoland, something I was not looking forward to. Weather reports were calling for rain most of the weekend. However, the school was determined to have an outdoor ceremony. For that reason, Graduation was pushed back until 10:30 to accomodate for the possible shower that was expected to pass through around 9am. Gardaution went off without a hitch except for Dr. Keller telling us to get a partner in our line. He really meant that line next to us. We knew what to do, but the college marshall didn't. Go figure. Before I go any further, I must comment on the bugs. I really think that MBC ordered a large supply of these bugs to be brought in for Graduation. They were those pesky knats that die on contact. Now on to the important stuff. There were 360 graduates at MBC's 163rd Commencement. I got cum laude Latin honors! However, due to a mix-up, that was not placed on my diploma, so the school is re-printing it. Amy came to graduation. I was very happy to see her. Up to that point, I had not seen her since September. Keli Diewald also came. And surprsie surprise, guess who was not there? Guillermo. Oh well, all of the important MBC staff was there. And for those of you who didn't know, I made up a Care Bear for Greg Meek since he is leaving MBC to work on his doctorate program at William and Mary. As I was walking down the hill he told me that he loved the Care Bear. Yay! So now I am back at home, and still unpacking, ugh.
Since Graduation, I have been at home attempting to find a place for all of my crap. I have thrown so much away, yet the pile never decreases. Oh well, it will all go somewhere.
For the last few days I have had a horrible cold, complete with a runny nose, dreadful cough, headache, body aches, and a really sore throat. I took my temperature yesterday out of curiosity, and the thermometer told me that my body temperature was 95.7. That thermometer must have been broken, because there is no way that was an accurate reading. I have always had a low body temperature, that was ridiculous. Keep your fingers crossed that the pollen goes away, and this cold disappears.
In other news, I start back at Kohl's on Sunday. I have heard through the grapevine that a lot of associates have left since the last time I worker there. Apparently, the management has screwed up big time. We shall see soon.
Lately I have been reading my friends blogs. And I want to take this time to say that I know that I don't leave comments, but I do care about all of you. So, if you ever need anything, just let me know.
Checklist of things to do:
_ get books back to Sara
_ call Amanda about hotels in London and plan our shopping day. (Must have cute clothes for the cute Brits......wink wink)
_ get to AAA and get travel info
_ get international cell phone
_ make sure my immunizations are up to date
_ pray that the federal government sends me my passport pronto, or else I will be having a little chat with them, they will not be keeping me away from England!
_ get my ears checked to make sure my ear infection is totally gone. Don't want my eardrums to shatter for flying over Atlantic on British Airways. Is there a clean-up protocol for something like that?
Enough rambling on for now. Happy reading, and I will update as soon as I can. If I don't, it means that either Kohl's is running my ragged, or the computer went biserk. All smiles til then.

It is official, only one week left til Graduation! Mom and dad came down last night and brought me boxes. Then I woke up early and we packed up the minivan, you know, the really neat teal one with the pink airbrush stripe on it. So now my room is a little empty and echoes. I took down that decorations in the hallway. Back to the white walls and bulletin boards that show remains of past student grafitti even though housekeeping attempted to cover them up.
I purchase National Treasure today. My friends were shocked that I as a history major had not yet seen it. So, I bought it at Wal-Mart, where else? It came with a book about American history. I will be watching it later on tonight instead of working on my presentation. That is what tomorrow night is for.
To sum up, I have ended my contact with Ryan. And this time it is for good. After 8 months of crap, I am surprisingly liberated from his bullshit. I refuse to waste anymore time on him. He will no longer be a part of my thoughts, memories, or life.
Ever so ready to graduate.

It has come to my attention that readers of my blog are unaware of what everything in my banner is. Well, I will clear that up now. First, in the top left corner we have a pic from the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice, with the hot Colin Firth. Directly under that is Pemberley, the estate of Mr. Darcy (Colin Firth). Next comes the Jelly Belly logo, who doesn't love the 4 calorie per bean treat? Then is a pic of the modern day version of Pride and Prejudice. Then you have Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman from Sense and Sensibility. And who can forget the cute little carnation! Love that flower, absolutely adore it. The carnation will be the staple flower of my wedding, whenever that ends up happening. Anyway, enough sidetracking, back to the pic identification. Next is Alan Rickman as Snape from Harry Potter. Under Snape is Jason Isaacs, the sexiest man in the world as Captain Hook. So yeah, I have something for British guys, especially when they play the villian (salivates, hehe!). And the last pic is of Funshine Bear. If you did not know who that was, I am ashamed of you! I can forgive if you didn't know the actual name, but if you didn't know that it was a Care Bear we need to talk. Contact me and we can watch a Care Bear video. It is Saturday morning cartoons 80's style. So, from this point on, there should be no confusion. And I would like to take this time to thank once again a special lil' sis for making me this banner!

Well, I went to the Health Center on Monday, mostly because my little sister made me promise that I would. While I was there the nurse asked the routine questions, including was I pregnant. My response of course was unless it was an Immaculate Conception, I am soooooo not pregnant. Anyway, the the doctor saw me and decided to check out my ears. Mind you up to this point I had had a bad cough and a sore throat for a week. As soon as the doctor put the little light thingy in my ear she gasped oh my gosh, my left ear was so infected. So, I have a severe left ear infection with early symptoms of strep throat and bronchitis. She gave me a prescription for Amoxyicillin (sp?) and told me to take it for seven days. Here's hoping it gets better. Today I finished one full weeks worth of May Term. Only 18 days or so left of the year. Graduation here I come. Ashley is supposed to visit this weekend. Yay! I need to get away from MBC. My residents, and some of my school acquaintances, although I love them to pieces, are driving me bonkers (not bad though). I think it is just because it is the end of the year. Now I am going to go watch a Cinderella Story because I was a good girl and got my reading done early. Chad Michael Murray is such a cutie, even though he has recently become unavailable. Lucky Sophia.

Ok, so today was day two of May Term, or Playterm. I did not want to go to class today because I was sooooooo tired. Couldn't sleep last night, and someone on the second floor left the hallway window open so the sensor detected that the temperature was below 71 degrees, so lucky Woodson people, we had heat blast through the night. And, since we haven't needed the heat in a while, it smelled horrible, kind of a skunk/rotten Fruity Pebbles stench. So that was lovely. Plus, I haven't slept well the last 5 nights. Boo insomnia! Side note, I dispise MBC sometimes, no grades in yet except for my Metraux class, the one where I turned in my final the Friday before exams. So while riding the elevator today, I saw a note stating there are no thongs allowed on the hill. Great to know. Thanks for the warning note. The last thing I wanted to see as a came out of the dorm was a row of ass cheeks separated only by neon strips of butt floss. With that wonderful visual, secured deep in your brain I will now end with one more scary thought, Guillermo designing the RA t-shirt for next year. Hello? I don't think so!

So, here is my first offcial entry on blogdrive. Just be aware that I will be using both blogs. This way it keeps the reader amused and always guessing. Where to start. Today is day 2 of exams. I am on the verge of taking my historic preservation exam, and want it over with now! More details later.
So I filled out my passport app yesterday. 97 freakin dollars for a few colored pages and the seal of the United States. Thank you Uncle Sam, you old fruitcake who needs to learn that it is rude to point fingers.
Game plan for today: take exam, get graduation hood, study and sleep. Home Thursday, thank goodness
